In yet another, she makes an inappropriate joke implying that a married woman might have fantasies about her younger brother-in-law.

Adding to the controversy is a video where Prabhleen and her brother joke about buying alcohol. Although she later claimed that the video was meant to highlight alcohol abuse in Punjab, many viewers found their lighthearted tone and laughter to be contradictory to that message. Critics argue that joking in this manner undermines the seriousness of the issue and further calls into question her sincerity.

The backlash was swift and widespread. As criticism mounted, Prabhleen attempted to address the controversy by appearing on podcasts, including a discussion with Simranjot Makkar on SMTV. However, instead of taking accountability, many felt she simply made excuses for her actions. Perhaps the most troubling statement came when she claimed that “Gurbani alone is not enough” to inspire the youth—a justification for her casual and, at times, offensive behavior. According to her, these jokes and personal anecdotes are meant to connect with younger audiences. But for many, this reasoning falls flat.

In response to the uproar, Prabhleen announced that she would step away from performing Keertan on public stages. However, skeptics believe this may be a temporary move, doubting her commitment to such a decision.

Critics point out the irony of someone advocating for Sikh values while seemingly prioritizing physical appearance, noting her smooth, hair-free skin—a sign, some suggest, of extensive hair removal treatments.
